From a Student Initiative to a Thriving Ecosystem
MERNGO originally began as an ambitious student project named Project Pineda at NIBM (National Institute of Business Management) in Sri Lanka. Conceived by co-founders Sahas Suraweera and Thilini Piyumika, the concept was driven by a shared passion for bridging the gap between practical technology and grassroots education.
What started as an academic collaborative concept quickly evolved through relentless dedication, hands-on development, and community validation. As the project expanded beyond classroom walls, it transformed into a multi-faceted digital ecosystem.
Along the way, MERNGO forged vital strategic partnerships and institutional alignments—growing from a localized student venture into a robust platform encompassing professional software solutions, advanced research (R&D), structured tech education, community building, and youth empowerment initiatives.
